The Impossible Mountains

Also known as the Cataclysmic Mountains, Flying Mountains, or Freya's Grace.

Geography

What would be described as a glitch in Freya's terraforming systems by her creators is now the most beloved and worshiped natural wonder on Thea's surface.
When the seedship Valkyrie landed on Thea, Freya immediately began work on terraforming, creating a more habitable surface on the already Earth-like moon. As she calmed tides and eased tradewinds, she also explored other options of geography, and found that with enough fenagling, she could create mountains that hovered several hundred feet above Thea's surface.
They float above the Underfoot Jungle on Thea's equator, stretching out west to hover over the rocky ocean shore as well.

Fauna & Flora

Vines stretch between mountains, often connecting them in bonds strong enough to keep the rock from drifting apart or to create bridges across the great chasms.
Birds, monkeys, and griffins dominate the mountain wildlife, along with some unique species of dragon. Water evaporating from the ocean and rainforest each day provides fresh water to the world above, gathered by the trees and vines that deliver it to the animals on the ground below.

Natural Resources

Apart from the rare flora and fauna found nowhere else on the moon, the mountains themselves house very little resources of value.
