Golden Griffin
Golden Eagle / Mountain Lion
Basic Information
Dietary Needs and Habits
Not quite as large as their Royal Griffin cousins, the golden still hunts often to survive. Goldens live alone and several times a week, bringing down medium-sized prey such as deer or boar.
Additional Information
Social Structure
Goldens live alone, only coming together for mating season.
They are highly territorial, constantly marking their territory to warn off invaders. A single golden's territory can span up to 350 square miles.
Domestication
A domestication attempt of a golden has never been recorded. Those with the money to hire beasthunters typically go for the larger, more prestigious royal griffin.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Most commonly found in the Shivertop Mountains, east through the foothills on Neverend. More rarely, these griffins are also found in the western portion of the Ridge, but this begins to encroach on the territory of royal griffins they're very rarely seen (in fact, many zoologists would argue that golden sightings in the Ridge are simply a misidentification of their royal cousins).
