Aon River
Geography
The Aon is a coastal river, flowing along the Kastellin Basin between the Meneziou Are to the North and the Meneziou Du to the South. Beginning in the granite plateau of the Huelgoat Forest, the Western extremity of the Brekilien, the river has it source in the Viscounty-Bishopric of Landreger, flowing West through Viscounty of Poher and the Barony of Dardoup before skirting the borders of the Barony of Bidar and the Barony of Rouzig and emptying into the Rade de Brest at the foot of Menez Hom.
The river takes a wide, meandering path through the valley, taking 60 km to cross a distance of 30 km at one stretch, moving back and forth through the hills like a ribbon. It widens considerably as it empties into the Rade de Brest, with the last crossing at the bridge city of Kastellin.
Localized Phenomena
Seasonal flooding is a serious concern in the region, as heavy rainfall and snowmelt in early Summerrule, causes a significant water rise.
