The Matriarch

The Matriarch is the matron of all drow matrons. Usually The Matriarch is the matron of the strongest drow house in a city, but that is not always the case, although the reign of these matriarchs does not usually last very long without proper support. Before The Turbulence, there also was the rank of a High Matriarch, who was the highest-ranking matriarch of all 5 main drow cities in The Underdark . When the Turbulence -or the Great collapse- happened and cut the connections to any other surviving drow cities, the title was absolved.

Requirements

To become the new Matriarch one needs to attain enough power -both social and physical- to contest the current matriarch. She also needs to be a woman and the matron of her house.

Duties

The Matriarch is the spokeswoman in the Matron Council. She keeps the peace between the warring matrons and has the final say in the political matters of the city.

Your Highness, (High) Mistress, or just simply The Matriarch

Length of Term

There is no limit to the reign, usually until contested and defeated.
