A matron is the female leader of a noble drow house.
Requirements
One needs to be the leading female of a noble drow house.
Appointment
The family chooses, less or more peacefully. The strongest woman who wins, becomes the matron.
Responsibilities
To take care of their family, their lineage and to guide their house to the top, possibly even achieving the rank of The Matriarch as the leading woman of a drow city.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
Most matrons do not let go of their position willingly, so usually only death is the end of their matronage.
