Drissab'aun

One of the main 5 drow cities before The Turbulence. It was situated east from Zilvraena Noqu'yl.

Despite the odds, the city survived The Turbulence, even when most of its was heavily destroyed. It took decades, even centuries to build most things back up, but now the city is rising from the ashes. Yet, not everything has gone according to the plans; as in any drow city, there is some tension brewing...

Government

The governing body in the city is The Matron Council of Drissab'aun, which consists of the matrons of the most influential noble houses in the city.

History

Before the Turbulence, Drissab'aun was a booming city, located east from the capital city Zilvraena Noqu'yl. Always one of its great challengers as the main city of The Lolthian Drows, Drissab'aun grew tremendously during the years and from time to time, also fought against the main city to shake its hegemony. Even if the great capital still held true, Drissab'aun and its leaders were not to be taken lightly. What happened during the turbulence in general in The Underdark, also happened in Drissab'aun. The means of communications were cut, the tunnels to other settlements blocked and the area still quite unstable due to the tremors which lasted several years after the initial great earhquake. Even if the city had takend a big hit, it survived and began building itself from ashes. Old families had fallen, so new ones rose to power. As the eastern city had always been the one to oppose the great capital Zilvraena, many of those who were not welcome there had fled to Drissab'aun to avoid persecution and start anew. The atmosphere had always been more accepting towards those who were oppressed from one reason or another,  and even encouraging the chaotic aspects of The Faith of the Spider Queen in this city; As a common saying goes, 'the very foundation of Drissab'aun was babtised with rebellious blood'.
