Ahvith Ghaffir

Ahvith Ghaffir is a third generation guard in the Hilaelian kingdom of Tahwil. Her permanent station is guarding the Lunar Tower in the mountains of Ghabat Al-Hami. Both her grandfather and father were high-ranking commanding officers of the Lunar Tower. She is currently a junior guard, slowly making her way to commanding officer as her father and grandfather did. As a child, Ahvith was trained to become a guard by her father, preparing her to continue the generational lineage of commanding officer. Ahvith’s mother is a member of Tawhil’s council in the main city, so her mother wanted Ahvith to follow in her path to become a high ranking government member, and eventual council member. When she was 13, Ahvith decided that she would follow her father’s footsteps, causing the family to fall apart. Soon, her father and mother separated, as her mother moved to the main city and her father settled on the outskirts of Ghabat Al-Hami. Ahvith was tested into the guard at 16, and continued to be trained under her father until she was 24, when her father retired. She visits him frequently in his small hut not far from the Lunar Tower, but she almost never sees her mother. As a loyal protector of the sacred Lunar Tower, she has devoted her life to the protection of Deshret's shrine. Ahvith is armed with the sword of her grandfather, which was crafted by a bloodsmith. Each generation who has wielded this sword has given the blade their own blood, strengthening its power by being a sacrifice to Deshret, and continuing the family heirloom. The sword is encrusted with blood crystals and bears the holy symbol of Deshret throughout the metalwork. Ahvith lives on the edge of Lunar Lake, which surrounds the Lunar Tower. She resides in bunkers for the guards, small structures with bare necessities. In these mountains, Ahvith is isolated from the rest of Tawhil and the world, rarely venturing to the main city unless summoned by the council and duchess. Due to this isolation, Ahvith documents all of her observations and thoughts in a bounded notebook. She learns things from visitors who have come to convert, giving her a vast amount of knowledge about her dominion and country.
