Sahkren Village
Sahkren Village is the main trading village along the southern coast of Tahwil’s Fayadaan district. Overrun with merchants, travelers, and criminals, Sahkren Village is scarcely regulated and protected. Kaharvi Jai is the most prominent figure in the village, as she does everything in her power to keep Sahkren from delving into complete chaos.
The busiest areas of the village are against the southern beaches and ports, where most foot traffic and trading passes through. Further inland the village goes, there are numerous makeshift structures for temporary housing for travelers. Food markets are found along the beaches where most people are, with only a few other food markets scattered throughout the rest of the village. The main hall for trading is a large structure that can be seen off the coast. This main hall is where semi-permanent merchants set up booths for weeks rather than days. The more temporary trading booths are poorly constructed along the beaches, and usually only are there for a day or two.
The main imports are fish, food, and a slew of miscellaneous items, anything could be passing through Sahkren, especially illegal things. Drug lords have been known to use the ports of Sahkren to do their business because the Tahwilian government will not step foot in the district. The only thing keeping Sahkren Village somewhat lawful is Kaharvi Jai and her strong band of fishermen.
There are more travelers than permanent residents in Sahkren Village, as no one wants to live in a crime-ridden, merchant-monopolized village. Those who are residents have either been there before the decline of Sahkren Village’s golden years, or who are so poor that they cannot afford to live in any other district. The permanent residents live by the northern border of Faydaan, to avoid the danger and chaos that foreign travelers bring to the south.
