Powers
- Superhuman Strength: Grant possesses nearly immeasurable strength that beyond most Amps including most of his own children, only rivaled by his fellow Remnants. Only his eldest son Russell comes close to matching him. He's strong enough to kill other Amps barehanded, who have superhuman resilience. He's powerful enough to cause shockwaves akin to mini-earthquakes just by striking the ground. He's said to be one of the physically strongest Calamities.
- Superhuman Durability: Due to a combination of his physiology and powers, Grant is virtually invunerable to harm. He can take attacks from other Amps with little to no damage. The only ones capable of severly harming him are other Calamity Amps.
- Superhuman Speed: Despite his size, Grant is incredibly fast, able to maneuver around his opponents with ease.
- Superhuman Stamina: Grant can engage in physical activity for days on end before feeling any faitgue.
- Longevity: As an Amp, Grant has a much slower rate of cellular senescence. This allowed him to live for centuries while aging very little physically, with the only signs of aging being his slightly graying hair.
- Geokinesis: Raymond can create and control stone and rock, manipulating its structure and even temperature. He can create fissures in the Earth's crust, move entire miles of stone, and even control meteors when within range. His control over rock even extends to the moon, as he's stated that at his peak, he could have the moon collide with the planet. Raymond's power over earth even extends to metals with traces of rock. In a unique application of his powers, he was able to condense a massive piece of ore into his signature maul. Raymond's power is inherited by most of his children, but his experience and sheer magnitude of his ability exceeds all of them.
- Geokinetic Transportation: By creating a hollow rock sphere that surrounds the person within, Raymond can transport whoever he wants by moving the sphere massive distances underground and raising it.
- Geokinetic Senses: Raymond has developed his senses to be attuned to the vibrations within the earth, which allows him to detect any vibrations within miles, whether it be from footsteps, objects dropping, or any other action that causes vibrations on the ground. Raymond uses this power to keep tabs on the citizens of Earnest.
Abilities
- Intelligence: Raymond has extensive knowledge of evolutionary biology and geology due to his centuries-long lifespan. His knowledge includes discoveries that have been lost to time. This knowledge has been used in his experience to create amplified humans.
- Master Combatant: Grant is recognized as Earnest's strongest warrior and is a highly skilled combatant owing to his centuries of experience. His style combines his immense strength, hand to hand combat, and skillful use of his Morningstar and geokinesis. He managed to defeat Hymir, a mountain sized Amp and deadly fighter in his own right. Under his tutelage, his children each became formidable warriors as well.
- Hand to Hand Combat Mastery: Grant is extremely skilled in hand-to-hand combat. He throws precise and swift punches and kicks, augmented by his superhuman strength. He's able to often forgo using his maul in favor of his unarmed combat skills.
- Morningstar Mastery: Raymond is immensely talented in using the Morningstar. He's killed many rivals with it over centuries.
Techniques
- Morningstar: Using his powers, Raymond has his Morningstar affixed to his right arm in the form of a gauntlet.

Personal history
Raymond was born in the land that would be known Earnest to wandering nomads. He was known for his aggression and pride during his youth. Raymond was a man of curiosity. He studied evolution and was fascinated by how conditions could shape the lifeforms that populate the Earth. Becoming a well respected scientist, Raymond would go on to marry and start a family. Unfortunately, Raymond's Amplified nature made so he could not age like an ordinary human, so one by one, his wife, children, and grandchildren passed away. The grief left Raymond contemplating ending his own life, but after defending his home from a raid, he found new purpose as a hero. His power and might earned him the title of Remnant. He became known as Granite. Later he returned to his homeland and took it over. Establishing a castle on the side of a mountain, he renamed this land Earnest.
Raymond realized that despite his power, he would never be able to overcome his own limits. He sought godhood. This mission was spurred on by his encounter with the Fallen One. Faced with a being capable of being considered a god, his paranoia and desire for power gradually overtook him. He ordered a mass culling of the strongest native Earnestians, threatened by their presence. He spent years trying to understand how an Amp's power worked, believing that by controlling the power itself, he could essentially make himself into a god. He conducted experimentations on Amps he killed in numerous battles along with his own citizens. One strategy he used is inviting them to his castle for a fight knowing the battle-crazed wouldn't pass up an opportunity to fight a Remnant.
Years of studying led him to realize that the power and Amp wields can be grafted to a living person as well as an Amp's heredity can play a large part in developing the strength of their power. Raymond decided that to create the power of a god, it had to come from his own blood. Raymond's first son Russell was the result of an affair with one of the most powerful Native Earnestians. Unfortunately, she would die in childbirth. Raymond molded his son into the most powerful Earnestian aside from himself through a combination of conditioning and body modification. He would go on to father over a hundred children over decades, earning him a rather infamous reputation as a womanizer. Many of these children would go unaware of their father's identity for many years, some even remaining in the dark for their entire lives. The few he saw potential in he'd conduct experiments to enhance their power to godly proportions. Some of his children, namely Richard, would have lineages that would survive to present day. Some would be used to maintain his rule over Earnest. Many of these children would perish as a result of the experiments or killed in action.
His second son he raised, Roman, is the son of his fellow Remnant Mariana Reed, the Searcher. His third legitimate child, Raelyn, is the result of modifying her ancestor's genes as to grant her greater power. Each of Raymond's children serve a specific role in maintaining his power; Russell acts as his enforcer, Raelyn is in charge of managing the lords of the land, and Roman acts as an ambassador and view into the larger political landscape as he spends all of his time secluded in his castle working on his own personal projects.
Employment
Raymond is the Lord of Earnest. He holds absolute authority in the land. Despite this, Raymond often delegates management to his advisors and children.

Virtues & Personality perks
Raymond is a brilliant scientist and possesses knowledge that spans centuries and is constantly seeking more knowledge. He holds some affection for his children buried underneath his cold exterior.
Vices & Personality flaws
Raymond possesses a sociopathic disregard for others, including his own children. He causally experiments on them and shows no remorse for any death that would result from them. Raymond also has a temper that can be dangerous enough to destroy cities. While his sexual exploits are in service of breeding potential offspring, its partially driven by an insatiable lust. Raymond has a large sense of pride. His paranoia also drives his extreme actions. Raymond's belief in how hardship builds strength is one he holds very strongly and one he tries to instill in his children, but this ultimately has scarred them in different ways: The abuse Russell suffered left him completely submissive towards his father as well as suffering from anger issues, Roman's harsh upbringing as well as his awareness of his fathers depraved methods caused him to develop a similar sleeping around habit as a coping mechanism, and Raelyn was traumatized by her father's "lessons" about the outside world leading her to develop a cold, utilitarian mindset.
Social
Reign
Raymond is the Lord of Earnest. While he's inarguably the most powerful man in the region, he's disinterested in the day to day management of government and defers that to his daughter Raelyn. In the past, he ordered a massacre of the native Earnestians and had his son Russell carry it out.
Contacts & Relations
Raymond is very familiar with the rest of the Remnants. He's not liked due to his antiquated lifestyle and cruelty. Tanner Young only allows him free reign over Earnest mainly to avoid a bloody conflict and token respect. He once tried to sleep with Addison and was nearly castrated as a response. He fought Typhon when he was recently crowned a Remnant. He and Mariana Reed have a complex relationship. The two bore Roman Grant, though Mariana left by the time he turned one year old. He has a courteous relationship with Volkr Amerson, the God of War. Raymond is well regarded by the lords of Earnest despite his absence from public life with many trying to curry favor with him.
Family Ties
Raymond only has any interaction with three of his many children. Russell is his oldest and he delegated him as his executioner. Raymond had conditioned his son to being his most powerful and loyal servant through physical abuse and experimentation. He shows little warmth towards Russell, him treating him coldly and talking to him almost exclusively through derision. He treats Raelyn much in the same way, but rather than verbal and physical abuse, he employs emotional abuse, dangling the carrot of becoming the head of Earnest's government over her head so long as she's his eyes and ears in the political landscape, but he treats her comparatively better than his oldest son. He's content to leave his youngest son Roman to be so long as he does what he's told when asked, and has little issue using force to compel him, having done so many times. He has no interaction with his many illegitimate children, including Rhea Grant-Reyes, but otherwise leaves them be. The same goes to any descendants he has through said children over the years. The only exception is if they could be used in his research. Many of the mothers of his children have either passed from natural causes, were killed in his experiments, or live in solitude. The only lovers he's ever held in any sentimental regard where his first wife and Russell's mother, who died in childbirth. Raymond rarely acknowledges his grandchildren. He sees Ashton as a replaceable soldier and Rebekah as potential.
Social Aptitude
Raymond is an imposing man who commands attention through his presence alone. He's rarely seen in public, and only consistently met by his children, fellow lords, or advisors. Raymond is often considered the most cruel of the Remnants due to his reputation of performing atrocities on his own citizens.
Mannerisms
Contrary to his large and imposing appearance, Raymond is soft-spoken. He speaks with an even tone and with a cold register. He tends to distance himself when in conversation. Raymond comes across as rather alien due to his calm demeanor that belies his cruelty. When angered, he's domineering and overwhelming, capable of striking fear into any of his subjects, especially his own children. He speaks with a sense of laconicism, being terse towards others, but his vocabulary is eloquent and well-studied.
Relationships
History
The two met centuries ago and fought each other but soon developed a rapport. Throughout her global expeditions, Mariana would visit Earnest on occasion to visit Raymond. Being a Calamity, she was one of the few able to come and go from the nation freely. The two would share information and explore uncharted lands together. Eventually, the two would develop a sexual relationship. This soon led to Mariana becoming pregnant with their son, Roman Grant. When he was born, Mariana stayed for the first couple of months of his life, but her obligations would lead to her leaving Earnest, leaving her son to be raised by Raymond alone.

History
Typhon invaded Earnest centuries ago looking to fight its Lord. He first encountered Russell Grant, the Lord's son and enforcer and soundly defeated him. Only then did Raymond himself step in and the two's fight ended in a stalemate. Typhon left satisfied. Typhon doesn't hold Raymond in any high regard, finding his methods insane.

Raelyn has the closest relationship to her father compared to her brothers, as she meets with him more often than either of them. On Raymond's side, he treats her considerably more compassionately, but he still has subjected her to cruel treatment.
