Age of Ruin

Premise

Humanity had been given gifts when it first set foot on the Earth. Powers that could shape the face of the world. Whatever higher power that these abilities came from would expect man to use it to reach its salvation, and they did. Heroes, great men and women would use their gifts to protect the powerless from those who threaten them. But those who preyed on the powerless abused their gifts. These conflicts have always began and ended with bloodshed with the latest one nearly ending world as we know it.

Now, these gifted people, known as “amplified humans,” have changed the face of the world. But division, resentment, and the challenge of using power responsibly threatens to tear mankind apart. Villains rise to meet the challenge of heroes, those in charge want to control post-humans through laws and restrictions, and there are those who sought power so much that they created instruments of destruction to find it. The line between those who are good and those who are evil have become so blurred that it raises the question of who could possibly save the world, if it can be saved at all?

What is Age of Ruin?

Age of Ruin is my own comic project. Initially conceptualized as a superhero webcomic, but I plan on it becoming a graphic novel. It centers around the existence of superhumans and how that would affect the world. I always had a dream of creating my own superhero comic and had many ideas for characters and stories, but insecurities about my art and writing skills got in the way of bringing it to reality. Now things have changed. I’ve always believed that I had a story to tell, and the only way it’s getting out there is if I send out there. That’s what I hope this will do; allow anyone to see all the characters, settings and ideas that will go into this project. Some of the stuff won’t make the final cut, that’s obvious to me, and most of it will change a lot overtime, but I hope people will enjoy and become interested in this narrative.
