Mordai
A Yaboni bladesinger, chieftain of the Epinoin Tribe, and current wielder of the Thunderhammer. Though young and headstrong, he quickly grew to fame as one of the strongest magic users in the Kingdom. Mordai is one of the adventurers who comprise the Forerunners of Prophecy.
History
Mordai grew up in the Northlands, the untamed wilderness to the north of the Kingdom of Andor. A member of the Epinoin, a small Yaboni tribe, his people were engaged in constant warfare against the Orcs. Eventually, Mordai grew tired of the never-ending bloodshed and deserted his tribe. After riding many miles, he stopped to rest and was approached by Iskarg, a druid of the Dwindle-Hammer tribe. Through ritual magic, Skunn of Skald awakened the druidic potential of Mordai, but at a terrible cost. A druidic vision showed Mordai that his tribe was in danger, but by the time he reached them, it was too late. The Epinoin were brutally wiped out by the Wolfdwellers, an Orc clan devoted to the dark magics of necromancy. Mordai wanted to charge into a final battle with the orcs to avenge his family, but Skunn of Skald convinced him to be patient, thus saving his life. When the Wolfdwellers attacked the druid, Mordai used his druid magic to save Skunn's life. Vowing revenge, Mordai rode his horse south into the Kingdom of Andor, determined to grow in power until he could return one day to wipe out all the orcs in the Wolfdweller clan. In 181 KE, Mordai assisted Cap to rescue the Pullahari monk Polaris Te'Laetheriel from the Arc'Tun cult. The trio, eventually joined by the gnomish machinist Hexum Kraskorein, would form an adventuring group later known as the Forerunners of Prophecy. While exploring the ruins of an abandoned orc city, Tamoachan, in the Titan's Teeth, Mordai inadvertantly became possessed by Azzerad, an Ageless One. When Azzerad freed himself of Mordai's body, he granted the young wizard a boon--the resurrection of his tribe, the Epinoin, as a horde of undead thralls. During this time, Mordai also came into possesion of the Force of Murmur, the Dark Codex, a powerful tome filled with force spells of a lost era. Later, Mordai would be elevated to Archwizard, learning one of the most powerful arcane spells under the tutelage of Doom, the Friendly Necromancer. Mordai led the undead Epinoin into combat at the Battle of Prophecy's End and ultimately killed Ethilendra, Archpriestess of Living Flame, in the Ebonglass Cathedral, but not before Mordicon used the Thunderhammer to complete the Seer's Prophecy. How do I attack three times? I swing my hammer left to right, then right to left!
