Mordicon, Master of Magic
First Magus of the Kingdom and the most powerful known magic-user in Aedrus. He served as court Magus to King Edgar I, and was instrumental in aiding the Forerunners of Prophecy.
History
Mordicon's background remains shrouded: a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma. He is first recorded in Kingdom histories upon his ascension as the First Magus to King Edgar I. He served with distinction for many years and was eventually sent in a diplomatic exchange to Kesh, as a gesture of goodwill. While in Kesh, Mordicon--along with Magus Rafe Windsong--played some role in the Returning, which resulting the ascension of Vormander as Rul'Nar, Keshian emperor. After disappearing for decades, Mordicon returned as a patron and ally of the Forerunners of Prophecy, helping them in their quest to secure the Blood of the Three, a key component needed to fulfil the Seer's Prophecy. It was later revealed that Mordicon was secretly the architect of the efforts to complete the prophecy, and had used the Forerunners and Ethilendra to bring the necessary components together. In 182 KE, he used the Fate of Damocles spell to kill Polaris Te'Laetheriel and fulfill the prophecy, bringing the Dragon Lords of the Cycle into Aedrus.There is an intangible world imposed on our own which you cannot see, hear, taste, or touch, yet you know it exists. You may not be able to describe it or understand it, but you sense it; it forces that lie beyond the boundaries of Nature. That is arcana, and magicians are its cultivators.
