Gnomish inventor and rogue. Master Machinist for House Ares of the Kingdom of Andor and Field Contact for Gnomenclature: Extraterria Informaticum. Current wielder of the Immortal Assegai and member of the Forerunners of Prophecy.

History

From an early age, Hexum excelled in “mechanistics” and apprenticed in Balesocket Awl Gemdust’s Gearworld Imporium. He was later invited to Tinker Academy of Investigation of Extra-Mechanical Exploration concerning the non-physical energies and of its use with gear-works.
He worked as Machinist 2nd class for the House of Ares (well before the adoption of Mathias to the house), involved in siegecraft and lumber harvesting and milling. Here he met head of Ares family and was introduced to Ser Mathias Ares after his adoption into the family.
Recalled by Ser Mathias to tutor the children of The Earl of Harlequin – mathematics, engineering, drafting, studies of natural forces, etc.
Currently serving as Gnomish Field Contact for the periodical “Gnomenclature: The Extraterria Informaticum for and of the association of Mechanists of Toffinghold.”

Hexum Minrod Noggin Marquetee Kraskorein, I don't see why it's so hard to remember. Like any gnome, it's just my given name, then my father's lineage, linked to my mother's chosen nickname, followed by my grandparent's honorific, then ending with my first uncle's nom de plume.

Personality

As a gnome he has a positive outlook on life – the cup is half-full on a bad day: On a normal day he believes the cup is full – as there’s always something (i.e. air, spirit, ether) filling the rest of the cup. You just have to know how to detect or measure it. And, is not air just as vital to life as water?
This positivity makes him curious and generally unafraid. He’s missing his right little finger for sticking it where he shouldn’t have. He has no regrets, but is no fool. He has learned well from his exploits and explorations – it’ll be an empty day in the dragon’s den when Hexum will be found probing the inner workings of KarrotSchliesser to unstick some jammed up, blade-spinning, gear mechanism.
