Hapalic

Hapalic is the main language family in southwestern Adynía, spoken primarily by the Faronians in the Kingdom of Faron, Dardians living on the coastal plain of Darden, and Amrans and Rómúkans in southwestern Gysikan. The faronian languages in particular have long been used by the various people of eastern Gysikan due to extensive trade with the faronians, as well as the founding of colonies by the latter in the region millennia ago.
This language family is not native to southeastern Adynía however, but was brought there by the ancient Hapalians who migrated there long ago from the Sjorgús Mountains to the northwest, supplanting most of the various Paleo-Faronic and native western gysikani languages there in the process.

Writing System

Both faronian and southern Dardian have a longstanding literary traditions, using writing systems derived from densaral script introduced by elven Marissíans centuries ago, and faronian scholars -particularly mages- traditionally write using Þinninún script, originally used for the Paleo-Faronic language of the núnnans.
More recently, the runic alphabet of the dwarven Dalindreans has risen in popularity among faronian mages.

Geographical Distribution

In addition to its current extent, historically, western Gysikan was inhabited by various hapalic-speaking tribes as well, of which only the amrans and rómúkans survive since the region was conquered by ancestors of the Nússans and Lerdíkans hailing from the distant Wild Mountains to the north.
The islands of Perinþa and Vamma southeast of Faron were once home to people who spoke a highly divergent faronian language known as þendic, which fell out of use after Perinþa ascended into the sky and became the hovering island it's know as today.
