Cousins to the exiled goblins, hobgoblins remain in the hidden kingdoms of the faerie, where they live as slaves to the elf lords and ladies. They are given to frequent bouts of madness that manifest as random acts of senseless violence, and often fight on the front lines in defense of the faerie realms. However a few Goblins managed to sneak a handful of their Hobgoblin kin away and those who found their way to Balgrendia have continued to breed. These Nightmare twisted creatures are a fearsome and terrifying foe to encounter in the old dark woods.
Unlike goblins, who have wildly varied appearances, hobgoblins are identical, regardless of gender. Each one stands exactly 5 feet, 4½ inches tall and weighs 166 pounds. All have thick bellies, spindly limbs, and heavy jowls that hang to their shoulders. Hobgoblins speak Elvish.
