History
The history of the tradition. When and how did this begin? Has the tradition or ritual changed over time? Use the mention system to add links to historical events if they are significant!
The feast of All Hallows', on its current date in the Western Church, may be traced to Pope Gregory III's (731-741) founding of an oratory in St. Peter's for the relics "of the holy apostles and of all saints, martyrs and confessors." In 835, All Hallows' Day was officially switched to 1 November, the same date as Samhain, at the behest of Pope Gregory IV.
Execution
Describe how this tradition or ritual is executed. Are there different phases? How long does it take? What kind of actions are taken? Do people sing or dance? Is there a contraption or item used which performs the ritual?
Components and tools
What kind of items or materials are used during this tradition or ritual? Some kind of ceremonial item or maybe participants consume some kind of drug or food during the ritual. Use the item or material templates to expand on these components if there is much to say about them!
Halloween costumes are traditionally modeled after supernatural figures such as vampires, monsters, ghosts, skeletons, witches, and devils. Over time, the costume selection extended to include popular characters from fiction, celebrities, and generic archetypes such as ninjas and princesses.
Participants
Describe the people that will participate in this ritual or tradition. The participants probably belong to an organization or ethnicity. Use the mention system to link them here. The key roles within a ritual could be the priest in a sermon or the bride and groom during a wedding. If these roles are important enough it might make sense to link to a profession or rank/title article and elaborate there!
Observance
When is the tradition or ritual observed? Is it according to some celestial movement or just in regular intervals? Or maybe always after something specific happens?
Halloween or Hallowe'en (a contraction of "All Hallows' evening"), also known as Allhalloween, All Hallows' Eve, or All Saints' Eve, is a celebration observed in many countries on 31 October, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows' Day.
