There's is very little to do on this ship for those of us who know nothing about sailing. The handful of soldiers that accompany us spend their days playing cards and drilling, Ursula and I spar with them and with each other. Kolbrá spends most of her time in her cabin with her books. She has come out to watch the sparring once or twice. She is growing moody as they days pass. I begin to suspect that she does not want to arrive in Kiragz.
I find myself sketching her from memory, there is so little else here to capture the eye.
I did ask how the sailors know where the ship is on the face of the world. The ship carries a stone which which is paired to another stone in Felvavik. This stone is placed into a device something like a compass and will always point to it's partner, no matter how far away they are. This, combined with observations of the sky and good charts, allows them to know where they are with some confidence.
