Midnight's Report: Nothing Breaks Like a Heart Ep. 1

"Gonna keep this short and sweet as I am exhausted.
Don't know what Adli did in the forest on the way to Meyer's place, but whatever it was seemed to make all of Folksong sick along with myself and Clem. Get a full report on Adli in regards to that, I still feel ill thinking about it.
Caistlin's white side adventurers stopped us on the way to Sonnerie. Accused me of being the big bad wolf? Funny to think about as I'd been called that back home, but that was mostly a joke referring to our version of the story which was pretty damn ancient. Cash seemed to handle things. I was busy slowly dying in the back seat.
Black Dog went wild when we hit the graveyard. Ate a ghost. Yes, I know Peanut, I'm sorry. More details will follow.
We reached Meyers place, ran into an angry mob in front of his place. I scared them off in my irritation and our lack of time, but it also made the most sense to avoid killing any of them.
Briefly received an examination from Meyers. He recognized my cursed state and named them... even recognized my status as being part shadow demon interestingly enough. I'm not sure how he has that information.
We were then allowed to peruse his library. The others had success on finding information on our goal... with all the questions about Alto I could think of being answered by others, I opted to look into curses. Details will follow.
Mob attacked the house. We scared them off again, Adli ripped a hole in reality and summoned some creatures to do it. We avoided killing anybody, though Meyer's assistant killed two. Meyers also apparently insisted on keeping the hole. Also MEYERS SENT AGENTS THAT STOLE THE NIGHTMARE PEARL PRISM FISHED UP! I believe we may need to classify Meyer's as a severe potential threat and review security. I left that thing with the Mysticians to get it examined which means whoever took it gained access to their facilities.
We collected what information we had, made a stop at a town in Sonnerie to break my new curse from eating the ghost.
 
So to summarize..
 
Important Events:
Adli examined something in the forest of great danger. Seek additional details from ae.
Meyers is now in possession of a reality tear.
Security breach in the Mysticians facility.
Meyers is now in possession of the nightmare pearl.
Meyers may not be as pleasant as he presents himself, making enemies of town folk, no regard for property or potential danger. The towns folk themselves seemed to have a bit of a bigotry towards doctors and monstrous beings however. Uncertain of how much benefit of doubt to give them, but given Meyers' activity? Current recommendation is to treat Meyers with caution and avoid lethal measures on any who see him as an enemy. I've seen more than a few reasons why such behavior may VERY much be warranted against him.
 
Information on Curses:
Black Dog eats ghosts and desires power from them.
Black Dog is currently too volatile for me to regain my shadow safely although apparently information Cash has gained or Meyers themselves may be able to accomplish this if that issue is settled.
Meyers had a book on clinical descriptions of curses. I've copied some notes down and will file them with this report. Short version is that "true love's kiss" seems to be the most commonly known cure and he abandoned efforts to artificially create that effect. Perhaps if spirits of love were gathered? Wonder if Lio still feels for me... Cash and Jellybean are quite the couple too, maybe ask them to be observed for such spirits? Reedi and Sabetha?
Another possible cure as well. We freed the ghost I devoured by completing its unfinished business and broke that new curse of guilt that way. Was rather therapeutic actually (no, I won't say how I did it, it's embarrassing.) Black Dog was infuriated, but perhaps the Black Dog themselves is similarly cursed and there is a goal hidden under all that hunger and shadow that I need to examine.
Black Dog became more active in Sonnerie and even spoke. Perhaps if conditions could be recreated in a controlled environment, full communion could be achieved to discover its full intent.
