Midnight's Journal: "The Librarian's Defeat"

"We did it. We actually did it. The Librarian is beaten. Not in the way we had planned for a multitude of reasons, but we did it."
 
"It was rough going though... Nichol, we almost lost him. Apparently at some point a bomb was planted on him. We ended up watching him dive off the airship, unleashing one of his bolts of cold lightning on the Library to freeze it. It worked wonders, especially in combination of the anchoring effect we managed to get working on the buoys. Honestly I wasn't sure if the modification would work at all, but we did it. We actually did it. We halted the Librarian long enough to keep him from the word tree."
 
"The submarine team then did their work to blast open a whole in the Library for the strike team. I don't know much about how they did it as we had to respond to an attack on Yoke but Clem got inside and shut the thing down. We lost contact with him soon after however."
 
"That's when Royce, Joust, Pim, Quet and myself had our real part to play. We were the strike team. The ones who were going to finish the Librarian off. First we had to track down Clem. Turns out Pim is a good tracker too. Worked for me, her abilities were likely better suited for the situation. Sending my shadow out? I have no doubt the Librarian had preparations for that. Wouldn't have been ideal. Not that it was easy to hold back. Turns out the Librarian was waiting for us with Clem at his feet. At first it seemed like a trap. He pulled this trick before. Turns out it was a different trick with him altering gravity, catching Joust and Royce. I remember Pim rushing in to grab Clem and then the Librarian stabbing something into the Library's brain."
 
"At that moment, something changed. My emotions ran wild as I thought about everything that the Librarian had done, how he may have harmed Clem, how he likely killed Nichol, what he did to Royce and Patagon before? Couldn't think straight until I felt a snap. Then everything couldn't be clearer. I had to make the Librarian pay. I made the Librarian relive the moment he stabbed Patagon, putting the Librarian in Patagon's pace, disrupting his vision long enough to approach and stab him with the chisel. I didn't know if it would work, it was just a wild guess that I could maybe cut out a chunk of his power. A flash of blue runes later and the Librarian was staggered. Long enough for Pim to shoot him repeatedly, Quet to steal the quill, Joust to knock him in the air, myself to grab him with tendrils and slam him down and Royce to Smite him."
 
"...wait... Royce smited him... WHAT THE HELL WAS HE THINKING!? I mean, I was thinking about using my Shadow Devourer a while back if we didn't figure out another way to seal him and given that I know Smite has a similar potential side effect... this could be concerning."
