In the Eye of the Storm

by Sam Talbot

In less than a day, we've taken flight in a flying boat (formerly a bar), fought a wind demon, talked down an assassin, met ghost pirates, and made our way through a flurry of water spouts. I don't know what's next, but I know I need to stay on my toes. The last time I wasn't paying attention, Kahla nearly died to the wind... whatever it was. Aerilyn almost fell out of the boat during her skirmish with Viravel Corzel, the drow assassin that has joined with us temporarily. And lastly, Noelani almost got pulled into a water spout while she guided us through the storm. If we're not careful, we won't be a match for what is coming for us up north. As far as the assassin goes, I surprisingly trust his word. He seems honorable for a drow, and has even offered to train us while we travel together. I still feel guilty for being so willing to fight him as soon as we saw him. That's not normally like me... I think?

Receiving news that my parents were heading south made me so happy! Now the village and them will be safe for a time from the drow invasion in that region. As for Amber... I have to take solace that help is on the way as fast as it possibly can. I have to leave it in the Theocracy's capable hands and focus on the task in front of me.

Chauntea give us speed and strength.
