The Shopping Episode/In the Army Now

by Sam Talbot

Well, we're in the army now. The dreams of our group refuse to stop, and once we consulted with the head of the temple of Moradin in the city, we now know that we have to act on them. The only sure direction we have is Borris's old village... right through orc territory. While I want to help Amber right away, there is no telling what island she is on, or even what part of the world her ship crashed in. Besides, it would be hard to ask for help in my goals without at least attempting to help someone else with their own. After informing the Council of the city about the orc and goblin threats (which in retrospect they seemed pretty calm and collected about), we had to find something to do for money and to act on the dreams we are having. Although Aerilyn was against it, we voted to join as mercenaries to fight against the orc army. 500 gold a day for each of us seems like a fair price, and it's in the direction we need to go in order to figure out what is going on in Borris's village. We also made a few stops at some local shops to gear up for the journey, although we understandably were unable to procure a diamond. I hope we won't come to regret it.

I'm also concerned about Aerilyn and Noelani's dreams. A countdown of dying crows? A countdown to what? And the army; could it be the orc army? And the demon Aerilyn sees in her constant nightmares.... I fear I made things worse by mentioning her possible situation. I do not think I will speak any more about it unless I am sure I can help. Otherwise, I am worrying her for no reason. I will continue to meditate on this.

On top of all this, the seasons are changing far too soon. I fear it has something to do with the powerful explosions that moved the clouds. And there's also the necromancer. He must be dealt with soon. While his minions did not attack us, their existence is a threat to the natural order.

There is too much to think about, and battle will be upon us soon. I must sleep. I pray we make our way through the darkness and its terrors.

There is too much at stake.
