Gruff and authoritarian, Captain Abberduff commands a pair of Zennonaize longships that travel back and forth across the Great North Sea in service to Colonel Starrin and his 3rd Expeditionary Forces. That service, of course, comes with a price, one he is always trying to raise higher.

Longship Captain

With a dark beard and bowed legs, Captain Abberduff is Zennonaize by birth but has since signed on with the 3rd Expeditionary Force of the Imperial Legion to ferry soldiers and supplies across the Great North Sea from his home in Wargun to Fort Starrin. Does this make him a full member of the Legion and therefore an Eldorian citizen? Colonel Starrin would certainly say so but the Captain has kept his feelings about the subject close to the vest. He has also routinely frustrated the Colonel by negotiating each resupply run separately, leading many in the Confederacy to believe that he is merely acting as a contractor.

 

Like most captains, he acts like a dictator aboard his ship, the Narwhal, deftly navigating the icebergs and other hazards found in his native waters. His attitude extends to life ashore, treating most of the Expeditionary Force as his crew, whether he has that authority or not.

 

With a crew full of recruits that can't tell their port from their stern, he claims its a miracle that they have made any successful journeys at all. Still, Starrin's coin is good and it certainly is an easier living than hunting whales, the trade in which he cut his teeth as a new sailor.
