The Five Fingers of Dorwine Report

General Summary

After some interesting encounters On the road, the heroes finally arrive at the Sanctuary of White Light. Almost immediately they are met by Biri Prexijandlin, the stuttering High Priestess of the Church of White Light who feeds them and prepares them to meet Uriel, head of the Sanctuary and Camua's representative in the mortal realm.   He is not quite as expected. Although his mortal manifestation is handsome, Uriel's personality does not seem to quite match the appearance. Each of the heroes experiences the unique effect of meeting Uriel when they feel compelled to share a secret truth with Uriel (and everybody present). Uriel, however, is not so forthcoming. He explains that although gifted with prophecy this is as much a burden as it is a boon and he is unable to communicate much to them in absolutes. Although he does reveal that is the force that stands between Kavep and the rest of Dorwine. He is sure that the awakening of Arkud is no coincidence and that Kavep intends to use the Queen of Spiders as a savage distraction from her real plans.   He also reveals the following:

  • The Staff of the Woodlands is not destroyed. It was taken from Atam Wishart by Kavep who believes it destroyed but it is not
  • Bali is in league with Kavep
  • Andro Ashid has an important piece of information but he is not himself
  • There has been more than one stone circle in the Ashen Hills, the one that the "Five Fingers" know about is not the original circle.
When pressed for a secret of his own Uriel admits that after millennia, he grows bored with the hymns at the Sanctuary. He has one further gift for the group, Uriel's Tear, a single one of his tears which he promises will be useful eventually.   Having wrung what they could out of the enigmatic and quirky Uriel the party journey's to Badalona Ailendogs' old stomping ground of Windmontley Hold. There he takes them to The Wand of Ice, a local tavern where Marble and Thomas Marchant go to work for their room and board.   The rest of the party encounter Narder, a halfling on a mission to locate adventurers who will help rid Ingwold of a wraith. It is during this meeting that Narder asks the heroes what they are officially known as and the party finally name themselves - The Five Fingers of Dorwine.
