This would just add some much needed customization options to our articles, making them look more personal.
As someone with dyselxia who dose not have the time, patience, or money to learn how to code this would be very helpful. There are several fonts (yes even those google says are dyslexic friendly) that are very difficult for me to read, and it would be nice to be able to switch to my default fonts I've found and experimented with and confirmed to work over the past decade.
This is an accessibility issue. Some people are not technically skilled enough to code and should not be limited in their expression on a site that focuses foremost on world building. Control of font size is the least you can offer.
First, I changed my account now commenting my own post. There's something I think that needs to be added here. I, now, understand that -if I'm not wrong- you want people to change everything but 'everthing'. And that's okey. But it includes and requires CSS. Which is so annoying man. We're here to worldbuild. I'm not saying that the CSS should be removed but at least give us chances or choices to make it easier without using CSS. Let's look at the themes at presentation. It's so up to your code knowledge. And lets be honest, it's not that easy and understandable as you emphasize in codex. No, it truly not. May be everything in themes - every little detail - so be it like makeable just clicking. Like theme gallery, I know there're exist in here but they so limited and different that the most people want it as. If we come to the first thing, CSS. Everything is connected to the CSS I guess. I thought it very and conclude it. Sizes of the notes we write is directly affect the presentation world. And it's a probably hard to change system that you're using here. Whatever, in the end, the codes is the main thing. But it's not that everyone's want. It'd be truly much easier to use the World Anvil if there were somethings that made by thinking the most of the people using this app who are not good with the codes, or whatever it's called. I love this app. It's really beautiful and very special. And it can be sooo much more improved in this point. I'd love to talk with developers in this issue if they want to be more informed about this and ideas in my mind. Thank you so much.
Yes, for all the reasons Erin mentioned. Yes, I know we can change all this with CSS. I still haven't done it. Why? Because it's damned complicated, and difficult for those of us who do not do well with formulaic thinking. I am objectively a very smart person, but I have dyscalculia. I love physics, but didn't go into the field because my brain reverses the orders of numbers. I *can* do it -- if I take six times as long as everyone else, and someone holds my hand, and I double and triple check each and every step. Two different people have tried three times to explain changing the fonts to me, and I still can't figure it out. This would also be of benefit to the visually impaired. Many people with limited vision find changing the font and font size to be the difference between being able to read something, and not being able to read something. Making it accessible from a simple menu -- one that would not even have to be complicated; it could simply contain a dozen of the most popular fonts, and then people could get the CSS out from there -- might make the difference between readability and gibberish for them. I understand wanting to limit customizability for Freemen and lower guild levels, but this could be a minor point of customizability that might even encourage people to invest in higher guild tiers because of better access to even more customizable options.
I have learned from Freemen and from Sages. CSS isn't rocket science, neither is carpentry. I can do CSS don't ask me to make a cabinet. In other words, yes CSS can do all that, but some people, like my wife, another IS Member, genuinely struggle with formulas. She can do CSS but it doesn't rattle off her brain the way it does with me. She can do it, but it takes time and her code is terribly messy. For this reason she has not even tried to CSS the fonts in her themes, she can change pretty much everything in it, but fonts is complicated. So, freemen do not have themes support, and I don't think that should change, but for journeymen and up, I could seriously see how this could help her and others who just aren't great with formulas. Use google fonts or githack, but let it be easier to change fonts and styles. Big Upvote
Font size and color are already available under "World Settings" > "Styling". Makes sense to add a field for selecting the font name there.
CSS usage is annoying and too complicated for the average user. I agree, there should be a simple MS-Word-Style option to change Fonds and Size on the go.
CSS is a lot of hassle and I'm a Sage. The templates also are inconsistent, therefore its difficult to get the font you want. Can we please make it easier to edit fonts with the automated editor? Sage is an unattractive option for those who want to monetize their work but are not CSS experts. Yes, you have guides, but some of us still genuinely struggle. It could also be faded out to help free tiers know its a paid-for option.
As has been mentioned by others, the ability to change the style of font and its size is already an option available.
It is already an option with Themes & CSS custom options to change font size, type, style, etc. Most of it accessible at Journeyman level (just above freeman) : Guild CSS Themes • CSS Editor Panel https://www.worldanvil.com/w/WorldAnvilCodex/a/guild
This is already possible
I would love to change the fonts. I am really surprised they haven't allowed that option yet.
Don't we already have this? I'm pretty sure Guild members can do this with CSS and/or under World Settings > Styling, unless I am vastly misunderstanding the goal of the request as a voter? https://www.worldanvil.com/w/WorldAnvilCodex/a/css and https://www.worldanvil.com/w/WorldAnvilCodex/a/css-articles Are really awesome and great resources.
