When you use the expanded relationship type creator under the relationships tab of a character there is indeed a drop down to define the type of FAMILIAL relationship IF any which is ONLY used on FAMILY TREES.
Right UNDER that there are 2 fields called "counterpart relationship"
These are the fields that display what the relationship is between the two people involved in that connection, which you can further elaborate on the fields below.
I am puting this as in progress for the next 72 hours and expect someone to come by the DIscord on the #development-discussion channel or I will have to decline it for lack of actual actionable information. UPDATE 3 AUG Nobody came to give any clarification on this. It is now closed.I have been wishing for this since my first day on WA, so yes please!
The current relationship types are incredibly limited. The family tree feature is also too lackluster to properly implement actual family trees that display all branches on every character.
This function is truly needed and I at least would find it extreemly usefull - and more representing - if there were a wider range of possible relationships a character could be in. Additionally i think the mind-map function A Rambunctious Dimensional Horror suggests would be fantastic
Great idea. However, I'm going to echo A Rambunctious Dimensional Horror and say that I'm skeptical that this needs to be output to the family tree specifically.
I would like to see something like a mind-map structure, with the article's character at the centre. Other characters, linked to their own articles, could orbit around this character, and different coloured lines/line-types could connect them. I don't think this should be a modification to the family tree structure, necessarily.
Someone already posted a vote for a change in the family tree but theirs was more specific. I agree with your overall upgrade to family trees.
