Day 0
We have breached the Passage Rift without much fuss, I knew we would, and we will be reaching the Primordial Shores in 5 minutes. I must say, I'm even excited to see more of the shores beyond the designated safe zones.
Day 1
I'm quite surprised on the actual scale of the primordial shores, we've been flying for about a day and we have yet to reach our first elemental plane. Though the sights are still just as gorgeous, as described in Professor Ali's notes. We are Currently passing the vines of the dead that binds Theia to Earth. Which in turn our mortal world feeds off to get more and more energy spiritual energy. I wonder what would happen if we tapped directly into one, an experiment for another time.
Day 2
We have Reached the Elemental plane of the Soul, it is an intoxicating realm one of pure essence, In some areas it’s so thick you can build on it. Though I'm glad I'm not a Contracted they have been giving reports that staying to long make one not want to leave, and I can't say I blame them even if I have no means of controlling essence the pure draw of this place makes me with to stay, structures even appears as a mirror reflection of our world, streams of astral energy acting as roads to deeper sections there.
Day 4
Our first pitfall, one of the Senior scientist wanted to touch a spiritual guardian to get a sample. Which resulted in him being cut in two and our team forced back onto the ship, with Guardians heading to eliminate us as if we were a sickness in a body. Even as we flew off they kept following of course they wouldn't get tired so the only way to escape was to fly to a different realm and our choice was less then Ideal. They Elemental plane of the Void was tricky, but accounts from the void contracted have given it certain characteristics. “You will find, everything you have ever experienced there, and things you would have liked to have not. The plane doesn’t suck anything in anything and everything is free to come and go. It doesn’t feed of fear, bad luck or demonic rituals the void cares not who you are or what you do for you are already apart of it.”
I'm not a coward by any means, but i'm glad that I'm not one the research team for this realm.
Day 325
We escaped from what seemed like a life time in the void, we weren't lost but it just seems that our time or concept of time was stolen from us. Our bodies are exactly as we entered and our food is no worst for wear yet our clocks say nearly a year has passed. We must be more vigilant as we continue.
Day 330
The Elemental plane of Metal wasn’t what anyone was expecting, it was a vast silver sea with mineral outcroppings and in comparison to the other planes rather small. But since human interaction, the sea has taken shape or given purpose if the spirits are to be believed.
Metal is one of the few planes we can inhabit safely and the spirits are please when ever we build there, which is a 180 of the reactions we got from the Spirits of Soul. Maybe one day this will be a colony.
Day 333
The Elemental plane of Light was near blinding even with protective eye wear. But it sat square on top of a cloud layer predicted to be connected to the plane of air. One researcher remarked how we should build a staircase here. Despite our best efforts we could not determine were the light was coming from and could only put down it did indeed has a source, since we cast shadow in certain directions. Attempts to fly closer to the light source made our machines go haywire and the thought of being lost in a literal realm of light wasn't on anyone's agenda today.
Day 340
The elemental plane of darkness held a challenge most exploration had to be done via echo location. Unlike the Void however there didn’t seem to be anything there, despite our radars proving otherwise.
Day 341
A Dark wisp class spirit snuck onto the ship, little bugger.
Day 342
A contracted bound spirit ate the wisp, and it cause his spirit to implode as the dark wisp emerged from where it once stood and flew of the ship. The Contracted can't make contact with his bound spirit any more. More research is needed.
Day 350
The Elemental plane of Ice so far is a personal favorite, the land though is so cold if it wasn’t for our environmental gear we would have still perished even with spirit assistance. The area was full of ice structures, of course the occasional mountain and glacier, but actually architecture, or at least what could be seen as such. Speaking to the spirits the shapes came about naturally and might have been influenced by spirits passing each structure giving it a certain form like water eroding rock.
Day 360
The Elemental plane of Air and Lightning Share a realm as such they are shown to be constantly at odds with each-other. This made them one of the most dangerous realms to visit but during times where the air is calm and the storms do not rage, there is a sense of tranquility, That was the point where we could research but had to act fast the winds wear strong enough to snatch us from the ship and lightning powerful enough to vaporize us if it hit.
Day 365
I wish to say happy new year though I won't know how true that actually is, by the time we leave this realm who knows what might have changed, in anycase The Elemental plane of Earth was as I expected lush forest, towering mountains, but that was just the top layer. Under the crust is where the spirits truly made there home, interconnected cave networks, nearly as pitch black as the plane of darkness though without the need for echolocation. If you stare long enough you could see that earth itself move and if you focused it would be like moving on a treadmill. It's expected that we will build here one day, but I have my doubts, what would the spirits do if we just started deforesting trees directly in their realm.
Day 376
The Elemental plane of Fire had a level of danger akin to the one for lightning but we could survive intense heat far longer than potential power failure. A quick dip into the fire plane showed an idea of what hell would look like, and honestly it wasn’t too bad, no more so than Earth caverns if you ignored the burning lakes and sulfur clouds. Though it wasn’t clear there was also what I believed to be a city. I wanted to explore more but the ship had all it could take. So we left, a true shame, but living to research another day is better then needlessly throwing ones life away.
Day 382
The Elemental plane of Water held as expected water, fresh water, as far as the eye could see. But as I rode deeper the spirits on our team became restless, the spirits outside became hostile, and a crushing pressure that was previously absent formed forcing us to retreat. One must not underestimate any ocean.
Day 400
We have finally returned to the primordial shores, research teams have expanded since our departure so it seems we really did lose a year of time. Yet I do not feel regret, we did lose some crew but we all knew of the potential dangers and it could have been much worst.
Honestly I can't wait for the next expedition.
Log End.
