Shazun
Trade is the reason that Shazun grows and thrives. It lies to the east of the Yegoth River just before it flows into the Zarzrik Sea. The Yegoth River is the main transport route for items traveling to and from Narzad and northern Thanyn. Merchants in Shazun are able to trade with many other regions via exchange with the Water Thanyn as well as their own naval vessels.
Shazun is the only city in the Narzad territory. It doesn't govern the towns and villages in Narzad, but it will sometimes assist them with large difficulties, especially those involving marauding mythic creatures.
Shazun is home to the Midovar School of Fine & Practical Arts. All Zaanri magic-using children and their twins in the Narzad region are required to attend this school for at least four years. Due to this, at least 10% of the general population is familiar with the city.

Government
The town government is an oligarchy consisting of fifteen individuals. These members are elected every three years by the general population of the city. They hold the rank of "Archon".
Defences
The town has walls surrounding it with towers on either side of each gate. Soldiers regularly patrol the tops of city walls to guard against predators.
Industry & Trade
The bulk of the city is built on trade. Products from Narzad and northern Thanyn are shipped down the Yegoth river to Shazun. This includes farm produce, linen & wool fabric, leather, and livestock. These items are either used in Shazun, which has a thriving craft industry, or traded via the sea to Ellarenlu, southern Thanyn, or Bomaz.
