Archon

Narzad settlements are ruled by an elected committee. The title given to the committee members is Archon. There are usually between five to fifteen archons, depending on the size of the settlement.

Requirements

Eligible candidates must be at least 26 years old. An Archon may be of any species, but the vast majority are Zaanri.

Appointment

After elections have been completed, there is a "handing off" ceremony where the previous committee passes responsibility to the next committee. All archons, whether newly elected or re-elected, swear an oath to honorably serve the settlement in the presence of either representatives or symbols of Chirdyn, Mardu, and Yulor present. The location of the ceremony varies, depending on the settlement in question.

If an archon dies while holding office, a special election is held to select a replacement unless it is during the same Spoke when the election would normally take place. A mini-ceremony is held for the new member to swear their oath.
