Investigating the Ruined Temple Outpost Report

Harvester 28, 2321 AR
2021-10-13 Having taken some time to rest, the four companions searched through a few more rooms in the ruined outpost. From their scouting, they knew that a gang of bandits rested in the tower section to the northeast of the great hall. Breaching that door, they encountered serious opposition. Adrea and Balan took turns standing point in the doorway so that the bandits weren't able to overwhelm them. Crasock and Elyot were able to provide back up and support. Soon most of the bandits lay dead. The companions questioned the last remaining bandit who said his boss took orders from someone "downstairs", but he didn't really know enough information to be useful. After he pointed out the stairs down, they let him run, convinced he would flee not only the ruins, but the region. The next morning, the party heads down the staircase, which swarmed with rats. At the bottom of the stairs, Adrea, in the lead, narrowly avoided a green glob of slime from dropping on her. The stairwell opened up into a dungeon room with cells to the south. Two doors to the west were closed and locked. Lacking a companion capable of opening the locks, they headed to the southern hall where the cells were located. At the end of the hall stood two zombies, motionless until the saw the party. Adrea commented that maybe they were looking for some type of necromancer. As the party moved to engage the zombies, the northern cell opened, and two more zombies joined the attack. Then in turn, each of the remaining four cells opened and two more zombies joined the attack from each. The battle was brutal, and the companions were hurt bad by the undead, but eventually they triumphed.
