Sir Ian was knighted by Geoff's father just before he died in 605. Privately, Geruff had also advised his son to retain Sir Ian as the royal potion master, as he was of incredibly good character and intensely loyal to Hadleigh House. Two years later, Geoff appointed Sir Ian to the position, having reached the same conclusion as his father.
History
Lord Rion arranged for the marriage of his daughter to one of King Geoffrey's knights in 610. While theirs was originally an arranged marriage, Alexia and Sir Ian bonded very quickly and were referenced for several years as the cutest couple at court.
