Angtor (A-ng-tor)
One of the three races that comprise the Awoken. The Angtor are humanoid eel-like being known for their strong affinity to electrokinesis, and aquatic aptitude. They are the middle ground in terms of size for the Awoken being larger then averines, but smaller then urrock. As with all Awoken, they possess the ability of Electrokinesis
Basic Information
Anatomy
Due to being a median in size between the averines and urrock, the angtors size seems almost average in comparison to the other two species. The body of an angtor shares a similar plan to a lanky humanoid with a long torso and strong arms. Their forearms are slightly larger with big hands, along with fins coming off from the elbow. Their plantigrade legs end in two three-toed feet with skin-like webbing connecting each toe which is tipped with a sharp claw.
Being built for water, the angtor possess a large powerful tail half the length of their body that tapers till it ends in a fin. Though not prehensile or helping with the balance of the angtor, this limb provides impressive benefits whenever an angtor enters the water. Allowing them to swim with impressive speed and agility. However, due to the size of the limb, it can sometimes get in the way of daily life. It's not uncommon to hear something fall, followed shortly with an apology when in tight spaces. That is if the individual is polite.
Like all awoken they possess an iron-laced skeletal structure and an enhanced immune system that can fend off naturally occurring poisons and toxins as well as being highly resistant to synthetically produced versions. Unlike their sibling races they have an enhanced connection with their electrokinesis. Half of the angtor population also has the ability to produce venom and have two additional teeth to allow for the venom to be transmitted with a bite. However the effectiveness of this venom on awoken is highly questionable. As many have become immune to it due to small amounts of exposure found in shared meals.
Coloration
Though angtor have a variety of colorations, they are not nearly as colorful as the other two awoken, but sometimes have various patterns across the smooth and rough portions of their skin. Spots, stripes, or a two-toned pattern are the most common with pale pinks, browns, blacks, greens, and blues being seen in most angtor with yellow being seen as a rare accent color. The patterns and arrangement of colors are determined by the ethnicity of a particular angtor. Their eyes run a large gambit of colors from blue, green, brown, amber, hazel, gray, and rarely aqua, but these eye colors are shared by all awoken species.Genetics and Reproduction
Like the other awoken species, angtor are mammals. Giving live birth to one or two children at a time as well as producing milk for their offspring. The gestation time of angtor also matches the time seen in averines and urrock. Along with this, the reproductive organs of the angtor match the appearance of those seen on the other awoken. Despite these similarities, the three races can not interbreed, and no attempt has been successful.
The raising process of their children is also the same, often with a family of two adults and multiple children. Often these families are supported by the surrounding community. This specifically seems to be a major building block of the dependence the three races have on one another.

Facial characteristics
Angtor facial structure consists of two forward-facing eyes and a snake-like muzzle. Inside their mouth are two rows of teeth. The outermost row only consists of a more predatory outer row and a more herbivore inner row, their tongue being long and needlelike. A spot of differently colored skin can sometimes be found above each eye for the purpose of displaying emotion, though common some angtor don't have these eye spots. Lacking hair angtor either have no features on their snake-like head, a cobralike hood, or a fin running across their head like a mohawk which often has a different, bright color to the rest of their pattern.

Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals
Despite their being many communities with differing traditions on Minerva, a few commonalities seem to always crop up. With the angtor piercings and tattoos are a popular choice for self-expression whether it's to modify their pattern to be more attractive or to show wealth. Art depicting their own merit is also not uncommon.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Like the Averine andurrock the angtor see themselves as apart of the Awoken. Seeing it as a survival necessity to have members of the other two races around, and suffering mentally when put into communities of only their own species. The exact nature of this connection remains a mystery to all three races. The biggest reason given by individuals is that having the other two races around broadens the skill set of the whole. This explanation does not explain why they gain comfort from the presence of the other two species they are co-dependant with.
