Enagrid Salas Larazzabal, generally referred to simply as Larazzabal or Pursuant Larazzabal, is a freelance pursuant or investigator of dual Allesander-Outmarcher nationality. She currently works out of the metropolis of Fauregand, straddling the provinces of Lough Amarant and Bruinkastel in the Midlands of Gondara. Though often under the employ of Fauregand's official Peace Guard of Margulis Mons, she is known to do pro bono work when it suits her.
Though she lacks the social niceties for celebrity, Larazzabal has achieved considerable recognition over the years for her brilliance, doggedness, incorruptibility and unique style of dress. She is particularly famous for almost single-handedly bringing down the royal line of Count Heiral von Gormengast after exposing much of his inner family as estrié dream-feeders. She is something of a hero figure among the Heralds of Gondara, the democratic wing of the Gondaran unity movement who were threatened by Count von Gormengast's bid to rule the continent as a single, strong leader. Among the Peace Guard her apprehension rate is virtually unmatched.
The pursuant is not, however, without her controversies. She is a notorious drunk, possessing a fondness for absinthe in particular, and has more than once slept on the other side of the prison bars for public drunkenness. Her haunted demeanour belies a sensitivity to the Duskscape and the lost souls that wander it, a rare trait she allegedly puts to use in her investigations, borrowing insights from mortal echoes and liminal beings. There are rumours she is a cleric or oracle of the Duskscape Regent of Death itself, Overshepherd Rom; a grave matter in a society that shuns if not outright persecutes worship of the Cenobites. There are even whispers Larazzabal herself is an umbral being of some kind. Regardless of any religious or parabiological affiliation, mediums are generally shunned as morbid harbingers of death and misfortune.
In addition to fighting crime, Larazzabal is also known to lend her unusual sensitivities to the field of archaeology, helping to piece together the dense, layered history buried beneath Fauregand's mazelike streets.
