Ginger Ale

Article Contents

On the world of Vreathe, Ginger Ale was an invention of a chemist in the kingdom of Ordland, first created in 2848 I.A.. It is a fermented drink, made from yeast, sugar, ginger root, and water. It wasn't very popular in Ordland as most elves don't like the taste. In Cassel and other human nations, the drink became extremely popular, especially after Old Anxi's started marketing them, selling them with small chilling sigils on the bottoms of the bottles.

A chilling sigil is a small enchantment and is usually nothing more than a small circle drawn with carbon ink. It is charged with Ice Magic, or rather, the instructions to destroy thermal energy. Just before opening the bottle, one needs to simply charge the bottle with a small amount of mana, this will cause the sigil to expend all its magic, creating a refreshing drink.

Even though Old Anxi's doesn't market this as a potion, it does have minor anti-magic effects due to the process of charging it with mana. Ginger Root and Yeast both have properties that naturally increase resistance to magic. Charging these with mana will amplify these properties. It can also cure dizziness and motion sickness, but that doesn't require magic for that effect to take place.
