56. Trapper's Cottage

Tucked away in the shelter of the Gnarley forest to the southeast of Nulb lies the Trapper's Cottage, the abode of Darneth Korrun – “He who walks the deep wood”, a human Flannae Flan ranger known locally for his skills and grim experiences. The cottage, characterized by its off-white plaster facade and distinctive green tile roof, stands out not only for its quaint appearance but also for the ominous symbol of a horned skull painted across the front. This article delves into Darneth's life, exploring his background, personality, motivations, and the darker elements that shadow his existence.

Darneth,  a Woodsmen of the Gnarley Forest is not just a local ranger but a skilled trapper whose life in Nulb has been anything but peaceful. Born into in Nulb and once of the Gnarley Rangers, Darneth has an intimate connection with the Gnarley Forest surrounding Nulb, using his knowledge to sustain his family and contribute to the community. With the rise of the first rising of the Temple of Elemental Evil he was instrumental in alerting the Viscounty of the forces building up and the danger the temple posed to the surrounding lands. After The Battle of Emridy Meadows, participating in driving back the elemental forces to the temple and driving the cultists out of nulb. He settles back in Nulb at peace. But now he is stricken with loss and survival in the second uprising of the Temple.
