Ancients
The Ancients were a race of magically attuned beings capable of both great and terrifying feats. They lived in the area now known as the Northern wastes and are equally renowned and reviled.
Basic Information
Anatomy
The Variseans are the closest relatives of the Ancients and in fact an off branch of the race, though how similar they truly are is entirely speculation based on ancient statues.

Social Structure
Unknown though thought to have been an aristocracy passed down through generations, with social favor being gained or lost through magical power. This is however speculation.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
It is thought that they once spanned the entirety of Vasea, however true evidence of their society only exists in the Northern Wastes aside from scattered statues.
Average Intelligence
Not much is known of their teachings or how much they understood of the world, however there exist at few tomes of their magical knowledge still. The most impressive collection of these, known as the Black Scrolls, reside in the extensive library of the Varisean noble family the Vretiel.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
They had an unmatched ability with magic able to call upon the very fabric of the world for power.
Civilization and Culture
History
Not much is known of their history as the only surviving tomes are magical in nature rather than historical. What is known is that at the end of their civilization Zerachiel Vretiel exhausted his magical power to seal a tear in the world that opened the gates of the void with the help of a few others. In doing so it is believed that he, and those who aided him, were petrified into statues forever more. Effectively ending their chapter of history. This is also thought to be the point that the Fae Temp Name entered Vasea and that the Void Walkers established themselves as a necessary defense.
Historical Figures
Zerachiel Vretiel - The father of modern Variseans as well as the last leader of the Ancients. He is also credited with solidifying the great divide and resealing the tear in reality that led to the weakened vale between Vasea and the void.
