Devene (Village)

Also see: Devene: Introduction   Basic descriptions:
  • Most of the buildings are made entirely of wood, with the exception of a few of the larger buildings, which are made of mostly of stone.
  • Just to the north of the stone bridge spanning the dry Cipris River is the Watch House.
  • On the edge of the dry river is the Miner’s Rest Inn; cheap accommodation for less-caring travellers.
  • An imposing stone Chapel has been constructed at the east side of the town, likely containing a number of shrines devoted to various deities.
  • A Town Hall and a Trading Post occupy the central part of Devene
  • Above them on a man-made hill is Copperstone Manor, detractingly higher-class than the surrounding buildings but not so overly lavish to look absurd in a small town.
  • Further to the north over the bridge are a Blacksmith, a Cartwright, the Teamsters Office and the Cauchemar Tavern; where travellers to and from Sandpoint go to drink.
  • The Old Oak marks the oldest part of Devene; once a thriving tree, it has died long ago.
  • At the southern end of Devene towards the Copper Hills is an burned-out shell of a building that looks to have been a Smithy prior.
  • Presumably fortunate to escape the blaze is a quiet Devene Livery Stable situated next door.
  • A number of cottages and other abodes that line the road are of a simple affair, boasting one or two rooms at most. Many houses now stand abandoned; windows are broken or boarded and doors are unlocked.
  • A narrow road leads further south, through the dead trees and into the Hills
  • At the base of the foothills sits Copperstone Mine where a shaft leads into the depths of the earth.
  • Copper Rock wickedly angles ominously over it all, situated several miles to the South-east.
