The Chimera Agency
The Chimera Hunter Agency is the oldest and most respected agency in Los Angeles. It was one of the first agencies founded by graduates of the Morgans' Firebird Agency Academy in Amarillo, the first US hunter training organization.
Marco Zaragoza, who graduated second in his class of 1911, volunteered for Jeremiah Morgan's plan to send trained, skilled hunters to new cities to establish their own agencies.
Along with his two closest classmates, Marco made the journey to Los Angeles and founded Chimera. He became its first Huntmaster when the position was established by the government in 1928, and served until 1957, when a stroke forced him to step down.
The symbol of the agency is a three-headed creature, like the mythological Chimera. The three heads are a lion, a wolf, and an eagle, and they represent both the three original founders and the basic values Chimera holds; courage, loyalty, and visionary knowledge.
Purpose / Function
Base location for the hunters employed by the Chimera Agency. The agency has administrative offices, laboratories, tactical armament rooms, locker rooms, and an infirmary.
Architecture
The agency building itself is divided into three parts. The central block is offices and communications, the north wing is devoted to research and development and also houses a state of the art medical center, and the south wing is the location of the facilities geared toward active hunters (tactical supply rooms, equipment repair, locker rooms, etc.) Behind the central block is a courtyard encircled by extensions of the two wings. The courtyard contains the Memorial Tree, which is older than the agency itself. The building was built around an existing tree, and although the agency has been modified and expanded multiple times since its first construction in 1912, the tree and courtyard have remained virtually the same.
