Vampire/Fae Universe

A world where both vampires and fae exist alongside the human world. The fae are more known to the human world at large thanks to their attempts to gain equal status, while the vampires are largely unknown except to the humans who work in vampire law enforcement with various "hunter agencies".   The fae are a race who found their way to earth from an alternate parallel dimension. They gained powers from earth's nature, and came and went between various portals that connected the worlds. Eventually, the portals shifted and closed, and many fae were trapped on earth. They formed colonies and slowly began to retreat as human science advanced and humans stopped fearing them and started trying to fight and conquer them.   Vampires are the result of dark experiments conducted on fae by Dracula. He and his first followers spread the contagion, but he kept a tight rein on his followers. After his death, vampires began to proliferate, and hunters started organizing to prevent them from taking over the world. Eventually, the vampires signed treaties that prevented them from turning humans but allowed them to live alongside the human world, with oversight from the agencies.
