Hearthstone River
"The River Hearthstone is the very soul of Chaelwyth. Water is life, and we must protect what sustains this beautiful continent."
-Squall Uhrheart
Geography
The Hearthstone River is a transcontinental river that stretches from the southern Occidental Coast through Saint's Lake and the Cantusloch.
At its most placid, the Hearthstone River is a deep, slow-moving channel of water that deeply sustains life and growth. This area is bounded by the settlements of Morelle and Thornsteppe, both of which produce bountiful harvests every year.
It's at its most dangerous as it travels through the Boundary Forests, rife with rough rapids and white water that poses significant threat to any traveler. As with the Forests in general, it's highly advised to circumvent the region completely rather than to attempt to traverse its geography.
Localized Phenomena
The further south the river flows, the more polluted it becomes. This is in thanks to the unregulated environmental hazards created by the Occidental Kingdom (and thus, the entire city of Fenrir), but also because of the strange magicks that come from the Boundary Forests' intersection of Ley Lines.
