The Thrakiot War

The North Naghiran War or The Thrakiot War involved two separate yet linked invasions: an initial invasion in 9 PC (DunBroch Disturbance), a brief truce in 15 PC, and a Duryad counter-offencive in 16 PC (Maccal's Vengance).

The Conflict

Prelude

Virtually from the moment of its founding in 389 AC , The Imperial Qyzharate of Duryad sought to expand itself by absorbing or conquering its neighbors in southern Naghron, slowly creeping northwards. Inevitably, its continued expansion brought it up against the neighboring The Crowned Chiefdom of Fionmagh. Although the Thrakiot Channel formed a natural boundary between the two, the Fiergs viewed the continuous expansion by the Qyzharate with suspicion, while the Qyzharate saw the Fiergic as a magiphobic, regressive and cruel off-shoot of their far superior Prauman cousins. Tensions grew between the two countries, with continuing skirmishes and sometimes open battles occurring starting around 7 PC.
