Dragonturtle ship
A Darshum kural Szafhan, Darkural or Darshumkural, also known as a Dragonturtle ship in Fiergian descriptions, is a type of large Duryadi warship that is used intermittently by The Durish Imperial Navy under the Yhl-Duhryadh dynasty from the -----up until the present. The Darshum kural is regarded to be the first ironclad battleship in history. Its upper deck is covered with armored plates to protect its crew, and spikes and knives are attached to the plates to discourage enemies from boarding. The ship’s bow is equipped with a dragon head through which cannon can be fired and clouds of smoke can be emitted to obscure the ship’s position. Cannon and guns can also be fired from the stern and the sides of the ship. It is used alongside the main class of Durish oar- and sail-propelled warship in the fight against invading Fiergian fleets such as the Waverider Armada with their formidable Gorogan-Class warships. The ship's name derives from its protective shell-like covering. This design is often recognized as the first armored ship in the world.
Propulsion
The Turtle ship has one 100-foot-tall mast and one 92-foot-tall to catch the wind and oars on the lower deck for rowing the vessel (80 oarsmen) .
Weapons & Armament
4 balistae, 2 mangonels, 1 naval ram, iron spikes
Broadside: 24 × guns
3 × basilisk (1 forward, 2 aft)
30 × smaller guns (later 36 main guns)
It has a dragon-shaped head, which can fire cannons through its mouth. Its tail can also fire artillery. Turtle ships have 12 cannons on each side. In total there are 24 cannons.
A dragon's head is placed on the top of the ship at the bow. Several different versions of the dragon's head are used on the turtle ships. The dragon's head was first placed as an early form of psychological warfare in order to scare Fiergian soldiers. One version carried a projector that could release a dense toxic smoke that was generated to obscure vision and interfere with the Fiergian ability to maneuver and coordinate properly
Armor and defense
Metal spikes were used to cover the top of the turtle ship to deter boarding tactics used by the Fiergian. According to historical records, the spikes were covered with posion or rice to lure the Fiongian into trying to board, since the boarding would appear safe.
Hangars & docked vessels
A typical dragon turtleship has 8 rowboats with a max capacity of 60 people. These boats are mainly used for transportation in areas where the ship can't dock.
