The Investigations Department

The Investigations Department is the portion of the Shadow Investigations Unit that does the investigations of any unusual events within Seattle or the surrounding areas.
The Investigations Department asks its operatives to investigate new expressions of Shadow, manage and maintain relationships between the mundane world and various enclaves of Shadow Kind, to deal with violent or destructive creatures of Shadow and to protect benevolent creatures of Shadow from hostile Mundanes. In the absence of an assigned task, agents are free to do whatever they like, but The Investigations Department demands that they maintain an appropriate public profile (in other words, that they not do anything that would break the trust that the organization has in either the Mundane or Shadow circles).
Agents are chosen for their ability to see past the veil and maintain their functional sanity. Each agent is given access to genetic and cybernetic augmentation to enhance their ability to manage the Shadow in its many manifestations. These augmentations are considered the primary compensation for the agent working within The Investigations Department. Room and board are also provided to every agent at the The Investigations Department head quarters. There are 8 teams of agents each given a Lead Investigator to over see the various assignments and progress of the teams. Each team varies in size, composition and specialty.

Curiosity

A culture of curiosity encourages questions; they are the backbone of every conversation and the drive behind every action. The right questions lead to exploration, which leads to discovery.

Work is more rewarding when curiosity and discovery are embedded in it

Agents are encouraged to learn about the Shadow by following their own curiosity. The belief being that different personalities and interests will discover different aspects of the Shadow when allowed to pursue things in their own way. 

All humans are curious creatures if left to their own devices. This leads to organic discoveries.

Agents have access to an abundance of resources. They can use company vehicles and equipment such as computers and communication systems. Their is an armory with weapons.
