Presenting to the Council

The Portal Master, Soül Soyla placed his hands on his son. Soül's grip looked tight and firm, but Raga could feel otherwise. In a loud voice Soül proclaimed loudly and with mock pride, "This is my son. I have called him Raga and now the Flight will know him as Raga Soyla."
During this ceremony, the father or head of the dragon house will announce a new member of the house. This can happen twice. Once after birth\hatching and once after the child becomes of age. After the second time, the child is presented the child is then thought to be a full-grown adult no matter their age.

History

"He will place his hands on his son and with mock pride claim him as his own. The country will not know better. When he is finally presented to the family he will be given his name. The father will speak in hollow pride as the family knows better." Xione sighed.
The ceremony hasn't changed much over the years. There is only one major difference. The presentation used to be in front of the Court of the Spider Queen. Now it is with a council of the leaders of the great Dragon Houses.

Execution

In the ceremony, the father or leader of Dragon House presents his child or a new member of the family to the public. The ceremony can happen twice in the life of a child. The first time is after the first eight weeks of life. At this point, the child is given a name.   When the child becomes of age they are then presented to the council again. This is when the child is given another name. This new name can be a name change from the original first name. It is mostly the addition of a middle name and officially giving the child their last name. After this, there is a party to help the new adult find a partner.
