Playing an Agrigaed

Why Play a Agrigaed?

Agrigaeds are a highly modular race that can built-in many different combinations. Also being a Hybrid race allows always almost limitless possibilities.

Statline

Having the body of a large animal attached to them greatly increases their Constitution. But their innately cursed nature greatly lowers their fortune. The creeping animalist nature also impacts their overall potential to a lesser degree in a wide range of stats.

Uncertain Humanity

This is not a form born naturally. Over time your animal side will try and assert itself. If you ever were to let it take over entirely, it would be unlikely that you would ever get your sentience back.
You have a Humanity score, this stats at baseline of 100 +/- (10 x your Wisdom & Charisma score). Taking savage or animalist actions damages this, with the more extreme the action the greater the effect. The only way to restore this is by partaking in civilised events, such as visiting restaurants or spending time in social activities. If your humanity score ever reaches zero you are permanently transformed into a full version of the animal you are a hybrid of, controlled by the DM. The resulting animal will have the intelligence and mannerisms of an ordinary member of its species.   Unlike with other polymorphs or transformations, this is utterly irreversible if it occurs, and cannot be restored by restoration magics or similar effects. They become utterly immune to all polymorphs and petrifications. It will however have a lifespan based upon the humanoid it once was rather than its animal form.   This animal may still be trained as any other member of its species and may even become an animal companion or mount over time. The animal the character has become will also keep its opinions of those it knew before.   Spending time alone in the wilderness will start to drop your humanity by a rate of 1d20 minus your Intelligence, per day.

Bit of an Animal

While you may be humanoid on the top, you are by no means so at the bottom.
At character creation, pick one of the following options listed below. This will be the animal half that you sit atop as you roam. The mobility stats present for each choice replace all of your base races mobility options. If a mobility option for your race is not listed under a creature then you lose the ability to you is if you pick that option.

Equine

A horse of course. You are much like that of the centaurs of old. By having the lower body of a horse you are incredibly fast compared to most creatures. But you are very much drawn to wander the fields of the world and may find yourself running off into the distance never to return if you are not careful with your own desires.

Mobility

Gallop
Slow 10ft.
Medium 180ft.
Fast 400ft.
Limts You may only slow down by a maximum 200ft. per 5ft. traveld.
Bonuses You can convert any 10ft. of this movent to a 5ft. leap, at no action cost.

Hoofed

You are unable to sneek on hard surfaces.

Hoofed Strike

Standard Action Unarmed Attack
Skill: Brawling
1d6+Str Bludgeoning Damage, Hits Twice.

Urge to Roam

The unfortunate part of being a part horse is an unquenching urge to roam the wilderness.
If you have not travelled at least 1 mile by hoof each day you will lose 1d20 Humanity as your inner horse rebels and tries to fight you.

Spider

Having the lower body of a predatory spider can be very advantageous to those seeking to see the world from differing angles. But their innately predatory nature and naturally frightening appearance can cause you to be quickly shunned by society.

Mobility

Spiderclimb
Slow 20ft.
Medium 40ft.
Fast 120ft.
Limts You may only slow down by a maximum 200ft. per 5ft. traveld.
Bonuses You can leap upto 40ft. as a bonus action.

Soft Steps

Your movement cannot be heard while you are sneaking. Things that make a loud noise when stepped on such as dry leaves or old floorboards will still prompt a check but with a +10 bonus to your stealth score.

Web Weaving

You have a pool of silk that you can weave equal to 10ft. for every Tier you possess. You can produce up to 10ft. of this as a standard action. You also gain expertise in Weaving.   Upon reaching Tier 3 you can produce either a net or grappling hook as a bonus action with a range of 30ft. and 120ft. respectively. For a net this cost 1oft. of silk for every 5ft. of coverage. And for the grappling hook, it is simply the same length of silk as the distance covered by it. To escape the net it is a DC 15, Athletics or Escape Check. Or a standard action to cut themselves out if they have a bladed weapon. Any fire damage inflicted on these web structure will quickly destroy them, however, things caught up in them will also take this damage as well. Only the net can be used to entangle a target but the grappling hook can be used to bring things closer to you.   It is a standard action to wrap an object or creature up in a cacoon using your Weaving Skill. Though if the creature is conscious they may make a single attack against you during this time as a free action or reaction. The escape DC for this cacoon is equal to the result of your Weaving check used during this action.

Spiders Parlor

You have a desire to eat insects, the larger the better. And anything you catch, you want to wrap up in a cocoon.
When encountering an edible insect, you must resist a DC 15 Wisdom Saving throw to avoid the compulsion to try to catch and eat it, so long as it is safe to do so. In addition, if you have not hunted and cocooned a small or larger creature for more than a week, your maximum humanity score is halved until you have done this.
