Demon Powers

One of the three main types of powers in Tsilanda, along with Origin Powers and Abstract Powers.   These are a strict set of powers that nearly all beings with energy are capable of using, to various degrees. Demon Powers are broken up into 6 major categories, and each of these have ranks beneath them:
  1. Healers: Those who can heal themselves and/or other creatures.
  2. Barriers: Those who can create shields of any kind to protect themselves and/or others.
  3. Sensors: Those who sense energy around them.
  4. Turns: Those who can turn into creatures both similar and unlike themselves.
  5. Telepaths: Those capable of speaking to others without using their mouths.
  6. Transports: Those who are skilled at travelling longer distances instantly, such as through teleportation.
Using these involves having an internal source of energy, meaning that a Great Human and a Demon can have these powers, but not a pure blooded Ishallan Human.

Notable Users

Any notable users of these particular abilities will be listed on the specific ability's page.

Side/Secondary Effects

Users can experience physical weakness after prolonged use of these powers, with Sensors and Telepaths ending up having mental breakdowns after some time. Each category has its own issues:
  1. Healers: Inaccurate or incorrectly performed healing may lead to patients dying due to their injuries because of poor medical help. Healers with poor control over their energy may end up harming the patient and themselves through energy burns and possible Corruption of either the patient, the healer, or both. Through proper training, healing can be performed with absolutely no harmful side effects to the patient. Healing requires many years of training to become proficient in it, let alone safe to use.
  2. Barriers: Barriers created at the wrong place or time may end up cutting through objects and body parts in its way. However aside from the possible casualties resulting in creating the barrier, there are few harmful side effects from proper use aside from physical weakness in the user.
  3. Sensors: Incorrect use leads to no harmful side effects to the user nor subject. Over prolonged periods of use however, users have a high chance of becoming depressed and Corrupted due to the high absorption of energy that is required in order to maintain this ability.
  4. Turns: Any human with prosthetic limbs who suddenly decides to turn into a dog may find themselves no longer having prosthetic limbs. Synthetic body parts and clothing do not turn with the user, leading to possible accidents occurring should the user forget about any particular implants or recent surgeries. Turning does not heal the user. One cannot escape cancer in their human body by turning into a dog. Prolonged use may lead to mental decay in the form of forgetfulness, short and long term memory loss, and headaches that steadily get worse over time.
  5. Telepaths: No harmful side effects from short term usage. Long term usage has shown users developing bipolar or multiple personality disorders. Proper care and rest after using this greatly helps for the future.
  6. Transports: A person who teleports without knowing the details of the location they are going to may lead to people appearing with their lower halves in the floor, or dead upon arrival thanks to a tree splitting them in half. With this power, it either works or it doesnt, the subjects are alive or they aren't.

Manifestation

  • Healers give off a calm energy, and the air around their hands may seem to vibrate if their powers are not controlled properly.
  • Barriers give off no noticeable energy, but a physical "wall" of sorts may be created. Their powers feel solid, like any normal material.
  • Sensors give off no noticeable energy, but fellow Sensors might feel someone using this.
  • Turns give off no noticeable energy.
  • Telepaths give off no noticeable energy.
  • Transports give off no noticeable energy at higher ranks, but at lower ranks their abilities may leave Transported individuals feeling quite sick.
Every power has a specific effect to them. See their individual pages for more information.

Source

Anyone with energy and potential can use these powers, however the degree at which they may be used depends on the individual and their training.

Discovery

These were powers that originally only a Demon could perform. As time went on they grew closer to humans. Through various means, these powers started appearing among the human population in Ishalla, around roughly 1000 - 1100 SE, before demons were outlawed from Ishalla.

Applied Restriction
Pure blooded Ishallan Humans today are completely unable to have powers. Great Humans are the only humans capable of being born with these powers. Demons all automatically have them.   These powers are extremely difficult to maintain in conjunction to one another. Only demons are capable of using any of these powers at the same time at any given moment, but humans require years of training.   If one is born without the ability to use these powers, it is not possible to learn them all later on in life. If one is born with at least one of those powers, they are capable of learning the rest, even to a very slight and nearly unusable degree. But they cannot be taught or magically achieved at an older age.
