House Do-Biz
Leader- Eyy Do-Biz
Great house- House Dinn
Parent house- House Do
Province- Emburn
Economic- House Do-Biz is the economic circulatory system of Emburn, dealing in coin, contracts, and corruption with seamless grace. If there's gold to be moved, taxed, laundered, or "relocated" chances are House Do-Biz is behind it.
While officially their books are pristine, everyone knows they profit from bribes, shady licensing, real estate extortion, noble debt collection, and even underground ventures like illegal potion brokerage, shipping "discrepancies" and targeted economic sabotage of rivals.
There are even rumors that they have business dealings with the Nyakuza under The Em-Purr-Ess, causing conflict with their fellow cadet house, House Do-Fish, who have frequent conflicts with her band of pirates known as the Pyre-rats. The nature of these dealing are kept very quiet, but the rumors do include the possibility of debtors repaying their debts with blood, forced labor or other unmentionable ways.
House Do-Biz has recently begun making great profits as a result of a deal struck with House Nacioun as a result of work by their head Diplomat Machia Nacioun. In return from increases access to the League of Imeal zed via Nacioun's place upon the Imael-Zed Trade Comission, House Do-Biz and their Major House Parent House Do will allow the Nacioun access and trade to other houses, mainly House Dinn goods as they are located in their lands, but many other unofficially procured produces can be arranged from places that would otherwise not give such a Minor house any notice. This has proven to be extremely profitable and to mutual benefit
Military- While House Do-Biz is not famed for their physical strength, they do employ several Clerics of Denarius As well as the enforcers of House Do-Dis In the protection of their caravans and House Do-Fish for their merchant ships. Despite this they do unofficially maintain a specialized force named the "kill-culaters" who deal with the more troublesome and reluctant of debtors. These individuals appear nothing more than common clerks at first, and seem so right up until they make their moves. It is said that they will always collect on a debt, one way or another.
Culture- Everything in House Do-Biz is transactional. loyalty, love, and even marriage can be negotiated if the terms are right. Contracts are sacrosanct, failure to uphold them is a greater sin than murder. Children are raised to value coin over all else, and they’re taught to haggle over bedtime and allowance.
The house is a frequent diplomatic power, hosting many balls and galas across the Oligarchy with aims to curry favor with all that might have coin to spend. Guests are greeted with wine chilled to your net worth and food served in exact proportions to your political leverage.
As a result of the obsesion with coin, House Do-biz is notoriously disharmonious with a great deal of infighting for leverage, coin and power. "Biz before blood." is common phrase
History- The oldest of House Do's cadet houses, House Do-Biz is largely comprised of Shifters and Grung, many of who are occasionally suspected of being spies for the Confederation or the league. This is not necessarily with out merit as the houses previous leader, a halfling by the name of Cant, was caught trading both goods and secrets with the both. It took much political capital by House Do, as well as parading Cant's head on a spike around their lands, to convince the great houses that this was an isolated incident. Despite this, they still do a decent trade among the Noble Houses of the Oligarchy mainly due to Eyy's gift with coin and diplomatic ties.
