Earthfall Vale

A wide valley that spans almost half the north-south trajectory on the eastern aspect of the Greenmount Peninsula . Famed location of the city of towers and mages, Erudition. Accounts from events recorded millennia ago, indicate that a huge meteor hurdled toward the land from the celestial planes, scraping the surface and setting it ablaze, creating what is now the Earthfall Vale, before landing in its final and current resting place, the Earthfall Basin. 
The decent and impact of the celestial stone, also changed the course of the Moribund Vitalis, creating the Otiluke's Linn, and depositing some of its contents into the earth, leading to the excavation of Maximilian’s Earthen Cache . Erudition is situated at the lowermost depth of the valley, quite a ways below sea-level. The difference in altitude from the base to the rocky cliffs, is such that much of the upper atmosphere of the valley, and upper levels of the city, are shrouded in clouds.
