Earthfall

Name given to the quasi-cataclysmic event from Millenia ago that formed the Earthfall Basin and Earthfall Vale, and irrevocably changing the peninsula's topography, and affecting the natural world and influencing future settlements and their residents. While its effects on the Jaded Weald, Maximilian’s Earthen Cache, and Otiluke's Linn, it is possible that its decent influenced other aspects of the physical and intangible world. To this day, the remnants are studied and revered at its final resting place, with permanent encampments established for those who have dedicated their lives to uncovering its significance and mysteries.    The event was only speculated by a group referred to as, the Harbingers. A sect of ostracized doomsday worshipers dedicated to Denoué, The Beginning of the End, whose preaching of the arrival of the end for years, had amounted to them being labeled as a fringe group of wolf-criers. Its arrival seemed to validate their beliefs due to the devastation that came with it. The surviving cult members, and those who were made instant converts, migrated in pilgrimage to its landing site, in an event referred to as the Tailing of Threads , referring to the comet's path as a thread of Denoué's, Dolman of Dawn and Dusk. Expecting to meet their end in the coming days, some were granted their request, most likely due to heat, dust, and other physical causes. Many others found themselves waiting for the end to come. So long in fact, that evidence of an ancient, short lived settlement surrounding the stone has been discovered, including skeletal and fossilized remains. Those esoteric researchers have taken to calling this settlement, Lynt.
