Mental traits

As a medusa, Sistine is the pinnacle of Yuan-ti, she embodies their power and personality. She sees other mortals as mere tools for her people to use in order to achieve greatness and would be considered by many evil.   The extroverted Sistine craves company, but yuan-ti do not dare to disturb her and rarely visit her.

History

Diplomatie

1133 AD   A diplomatic mission from Tana's Empire ventured through the jungle to reach the Lightfoot Kingdom. During their journey, they encountered the Yuan-ti of Chezucore, who refused to let them cross. This disagreement prompted a small group of individuals from the diplomatic mission to proceed directly to Orrinshire and meet with the high priestess.   They demonstrated their valor in the dungeon beneath the main pyramid, proving their worth to Sistine, who invited them to a feast before they rejoined the diplomatic mission. During the feast, Sistine noticed a spark of power within one of the adventurers from the group, Flo Stormcry, and engaged in intimate relations with him. However, he did not prove to be chosen by the god, as he did not give the priestess a child.

Meeting with a god

1135 AD   A group of adventurers, captured by a Yuan-ti patrol, was brought to Orrinshire to explain themselves. Demia Bose, one of the adventurer, mentioning Sseth caused arguments among the snake people, and Sistine, hearing of the dispute, intervened to hear the adventurers' plea.   They expressed their desire to meet the god, as he possessed an artifact that could potentially change the world: a Dragon egg. Touched by their devotion to their quest, Sistine believed that Sseth would appreciate meeting such mortals and authorized an interview, albeit accompanied by a contingent of soldiers. The following day, they ventured deeper into the jungle to meet Sseth.   Upon their return the next day, the adventurers embarked on a quest to gather legendary artifacts from all corners of the world in the name of Sseth.

Fall of the false god

1136 AD
Over a year later the adventurers returned, now in possession of the artifact sought by Sseth. Welcomed as heroes by the Yuan-ti, Sistine organized a feast in their honor before they departed once again to meet the god.   However, during this meeting, a meteor fell from the sky, signaling Sseth's demise. Only Rakon, one of the adventurers, survived the encounter, now wielding Sseth's divine power. With Sseth dead, Sistine's control over chezucore weakened, leading to rebellion among the tortles slaves and a subsequent famine.   Retreating to the Shadowfell, Sistine sought refuge with the vampires of the Crimson Court, but they refused to intervene in the mortal conflict. Turning to the divine once more, Sistine presented the Yuan-ti with a new god to worship: Noxia. With the rebellion over and control restored, Sistine regained her authority over the theocracy.   However, in exchange for her help in restoring Sistine's power within the Chezucore Theocracy, Noxia demanded a price. Sistine was to be transformed into a medusa. While many would consider such a transformation a curse, Sistine and the yuan-ti viewed it as a blessing, and she willingly agreed.   Now endowed with the power to petrify her enemies with her gaze, Sistine rules over the yuan-ti as a medusa. This transformation has solidified her authority and augmented her mystical prowess.
