Crimson Court

Government

The Crimson Court, a society of medium and higher vampires, rules over the shadowfell, maintaining a complex and hierarchical structure.

Hierarchy

The Crimson Court's hierarchy is based on a tiered system, with vampires classified into three main categories: Lesser, Intermediate, and Higher. This division forms the foundation of their social structure. Within each category, there is a further stratification based on age and experience. Elder vampires, regardless of their category, hold a higher position of authority and respect than their younger counterparts.

Culture

Gigher vampires are Immortal, not only do they possess the ability to endure the passage of time but also the distinction of being unkillable, save for the rare exception of being slain by another higher vampire.   Given their partial immortality, higher vampires exhibit an extraordinary level of caution and diplomacy when interacting with one another. Aggression or conflict between vampires is regarded as a grave taboo within their society. The weight of eternity encourages them to seek peaceful resolutions between vampires, and disputes are often settled through intricate negotiations and diplomacy rather than force. This emphasis on diplomacy serves to maintain a delicate balance within the Crimson Court's hierarchy, as power struggles or conflicts between individuals have far-reaching consequences in a society where time knows no bounds.

Diplomacy

Conflict

The Crimson Court seldom engages in diplomatic affairs, for vampires generally perceive themselves as beings beyond the need for such interactions. Believing that the unforgiving passage of time will deal with most conflicts. However, there is an exception to this tendency.   In the past, the Crimson Court expressed genuine concern over the lich Vecna. The presence of such a powerful undead entity challenging their timeless perspective raised alarms among the higher vampires. While they might be reticent to involve themselves in external matters, the Crimson Court does not take kindly to undead beings who dare to contest their unique understanding of existence.
